TWO WEEKS!

Until Daniel turns one!

WOW! Where has the year gone??? Its seems like yesterday when Mommy went to what she thought was a routine appointment, only to have the doctors put her in the hospital to have Daniel. We have thanked God many many times for having Daniel come out so perfect, even though he was 4 1/2 weeks early!

Mommy decided on a theme for Daniel's "party", which will be Daniel as the guest of honor, Mommy, Daddy, Granny, Pap-Pap, cousins Tommy, Patrick and Jade, and Grandma and uncle Aubrey. Since Daniel has a cow everytime the commercial for the Monster Truck Jam comes on, Mommy and Daddy will be ordering a BIG 4X4 cake from Publix, and have ordered Monster Truck Jam plates, napkins and cups. Of course, ice cream will accompany the cake!

If Daniel only knew what was coming, he would be sooo excited!

We're Back

We have missed our blog!

But...Mommy and Daniel both had reallllly bad colds. Mommy is just about 100%...Daniel is about 90%.

Daniel has been extra clingy to Mommy and not letting her get anything done. He hadn't been sleeping all night until last night. But, we did learn something - Triaminic Flowing Vapors is a Godsend! Its been helping Daniel breathe sooooo much better! Mommy doens't even mind that it eats batteries, as long as the lil punkin sleeps better.

Yesterday was another first. Daniel hasn't been wanting his bottle, but has been wanting stuff to drink, so Mommy filled up his sippy cup yesterday. After a coule of swallows, she put Daniel's hands on the cup. At first, he wasn't too keen on it, then all of the sudden, he wrapped his little hands around it and chugged away!

Our First : (

Fever......

Daniel woke up in the middle of the night on Sunday / Monday and was up for hours, just all hot and fussy. Mommy gave him some Tylenol and slept on the couch with him until 2:30, when he went to bed until 5:00. Mommy had never prayed so hard as she cuddled him to her chest. She has a cold, too, and just asked God to pile it all on her, because she can take being miserable better than her lil boy.

When Daddy got in from work, Mommy took Daniel's temprature under his arm and it was 101.4. As soon as Mommy was it go into three digits, her heart leapt. She gave him Tylenol again, and it went down to 99.8 by early morning. Mommy thought Daddy was going to have a nervous breakdown, and she was secretly glad that he was at work last night, or she's afraid of how he would have reacted!

Mommy & Daddy took Daniel to the doctor that night, and his temprature was 100.4 in the office. Dr. Cheek said Daniel has an ear infection. We had never met Dr. Cheek, but he seemed like a nice man, even if Daniel cried while he looked in his ears.

So...

For the next 10 days, we are on some antibotics (for free thanks to Publix) and Motrin when needee for his discomfort.

Good news - his fever seems to be gone and Daniel is his usual sweet self, playing on the floor behind Mommy as she types.

Mommy's In Trouble

Oh boy - last night and all day today, Daniel will crawl for a minute, but as soon as he finds something stable, up he comes! He's been pulling himeself up at least to his knees and often to his feet ALL DAY!

We all know what is coming next, a little moving around while holding onto things, then....

FIRST STEPS!

Oh wow - Mommy isn't sure she's ready for a walker yet, but she's not calling the shots!

Happy to Be Back

Hello!
Daniel and I have missed this blog!
This past week was all uncharted territory for Mommy & Daniel.

Daniel's Uncle Jimmy passed away suddenly on January 8th, and we all had to help with arrangements, seen realitives that we hadn't seen in a while, and so on.

Daniel was a real trooper - normally, once to twice a week, we'll head to Granny and Pap-Pap's, to church or the store, so we're only gone half a day at the very most. Every day last week, we were gone at least 8 hours, sometimes longer. Daniel remained his charming sweet self the whole while, and helped lighten everyone's spirits during a sad time.

Mommy is sad that she never got any pictures of Daniel with Uncle Jimmy, but is glad that they at least got to see each other over the first 11 months of Daniel's life.

She is also so proud of Daniel for being so good through everything!
Take a looksie at the video we added, it will show you just how Daniel handled the week. You will Hear Pap-Pap, see Daddy, Aunt Rose and cousin Jade in the background...

Mr. Potato Head (and arms, and hands....)

I think this picture says it all. Needless to say, Daniel had some mashed potatoes during Mommy and Daddy's dinner tonight. Well, some doesn't quite cover it. He was eating them as fast as Mommy could shovel them into his mouth.
Is there anything at all that he will not eat?!?!?!? Not so far...everything he's tasted, he's readily opened his mouth for more - even the greens Mommy was eating for lunch.
Of course, upon seeing his son like this, Daddy called him a Mr. Potato Head, and then added (regarding the obvious love of 'taters )-- "Like Mother, like Son."
Hmmm....Does that make Mommy an original Mrs. Potato Head???

I LOVE MY MOMMY Day

Today was definately all about Mommy for Daniel.

Very much in Mommy's face all day long, but at least he was in a good mood.

Although, there was one moment of self love in there....

2008 : First of the year, a year of firsts

Well, two days ago, after months of playing peek-a-boo with Daniel, he was laying on the couch on Randall's lap and was covered up with a blanket. He pulled it up, shielding his face from my view, then abruptly jerked in down with a smile on his face. I wasn't sure if he was truly doing it or not, but I said "peek-a-boo!" anyway. This was follwed by a resounding squeal of approval, and about 10 minutes of his little hands going up and down as fast as he could with the blankie in his hands. It was so sweet!

Today, we were playing on the couch and I clapped his hands together, which he seemed to enjoy, but after a few moments, we were focused on other things. This evening, after he finnished his dinner - I always tell him "Yay! You ate it all up!" and clap. I got up to get a towel to wiper the blueberries from his cheeks and come back to him clapping and yelling "YAY!" It was too cute! I will try to get a pic of him doing it before the night is over.

He's just growing so fast and learning new things so quickly. Its amazing how fast he picks up on something he's shown!
