Officially A Toddler!

While Daniel has been slowly working up courage to stand on his own, and while Granny saw something that didn't sink in with Mommy a few weeks ago, over this past weekend, this is what Daniel did! Every evening is now filled with similar action, so it won't be long before the callouses on his knees will be a thing of the past!

While Mommy will miss watching Daniel walking on his knees and flying through the hallway on all fours with his bang-bang-bang-bang...she is spoud beyond tears of her big boy!

Summertime, Summertime

What can we say about today except that!

We went to Granny's and stopped on the way and got ice cream. Mommy and Daddy and Daniel all got cones, although Daniel's was the only one with eyes and sprinkles! He got a "Home Run" ice cream ice cream cone. He did much better with it than the first time we stopped - he ate all of the ice cream this time (that didn't melt first). Maybe next time he'll tackle the cone itself!

At Granny's Daniel got to try out the new waterslide. Much to the dismay of everyone, he was not a fan 0 he clung to Mommy and only smiled when Granny squirted him with a water gun. Maybe a pool would be better, after all, it would be more like a bathtub. Mommy thinks it may have been all of the squealing from cousins Jade and Patrick that contributed his dislking.

Summer has officially started at the Clark household!

Happy First of June!

We can't believe the year is half over already!

Or...that its been nearly a month since our last post. Let's see...biggest news:%20Daniel took a few tentaive steps back on May 22nd, but no independant ones since. He happily holds onto one of Mommy's fingers and toddles down the entire hallway, but the confidence isn't there yet.

May 19th Daniel had his 15 month well baby appointment - he is 21 pounds, 3 ounces and 32 inches tall. Dr. Collyer was pleased with his development. And the best news: only one shot! YAY!

That same day, Daniel went to the park for the first time with Mommy & Daddy. He LOVED the swing! He kept saying "wow - wow - wow - wow" the whole time he went back and forth. The little stationery horesy thingie? Didn't care for it...not one bit.

Another first was Daniel's first ice cream cone all to himself! Mommy & Daddy to Daniel to Bruster's and he got a baby cone on the house! He got chocolate - it had sprinkles and eyes! He got more on him than in him, but he sure had fun!

Memorial Day, Mommy & Daddy & Daniel went to Granny and Pap Paps for a cookout. Daniel liked the potato salad and the baby burger Granny made for him. But his best dish was the buns he snatched at the beginning of dinner!

Today, Daddy went and got doughnuts for breakfast. Daniel shared a chocolate cream filled one with Mommy. He really liked it! It was about the only food he liked today - Daniel is making Mommy crazy by hardly eating. We are all hoping its just a phase!

Enjoy the pics!

Week In Review

To narrate the pictures....

Well, lets start off with last weekend. When we were at the shrimp festival, we all went into a coffee shop to get ice cream, and there were some really low hanging lights in the window, and although we didn't know this until a few days later, apparently, Daniel touched one of them, resulting in his first boo boo. It blistered one finger and actually burnt through the skin of the other, poor lil man. The reason we didn't know is because he let out one little cry and stopped almost immediately with no fussing to follow. Mr. Tough Guy! Mommy put a band aid on it to get some Neosporin on the one finger, since it looked like it was threating to get infected. Daniel didn't like the band aid much, even though it was camoflage. He did leave it on long enough to help, and his finger looked a lot better the next day. He still has scabs right now, though.

We went to see Granny and Pap and Daniel got to sit in their new car and test drive it - very cool!

Last night, Daddy ran in from outiside where he was filling up the pond and scooped Daniel up and ran out in the front yard. Mommy followed to see what the commotion was about - there was a Blimp right over the house! It's in town for the TPC and was probably going to be docked for the night at Cecil Field. Daniel thought it was great!

Today was Mother's Day. Daniel bought Mommy a pretty picture frame with multiple frames on the bottom that says FAMILY across the top. He gave her a card with a recorded message from him that she will treasure forever. He also gave her a book that she can read to him called "God Gave Us You." He went in with Daddy to buy her some beautiful white roses, and Daddy got her a rice cooker/vegetable steamer and a new cell phone. They all went to brunch at Copeleands, which Daniel ate nearly all of his "Fearless Chicken Plate", which was fried chicken tenders, fries and a biscuit. He even helped Mommy eat her brownie cheesecake for dessert. That was the most Daniel had for lunch in a while. Mommy said that was her best Mommy's Day gift of all.

Arrrg!

We all went to the Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach today.

Daniel had his first taste of shrimp and apparently enjoyed it. He had French fries and a vanilla ice cream cone too, along with some lemonade. Mommy & Daddy weren't thrilled with the massive amounts of people, but it was a nice outing nonetheless. Here are some shots of our favorite lil pirate!

Its Been Too Long!

We are so sorry there have been no updates in FOREVER!

Sometimes, life and a growing boy just seems to occupy all of your time!

We will try to at least give highlights of the past two months, in an effort to catch up....

On March 11th, Daddy's birthday, Mommy, Daddy and Daniel went to Savannah, Ga for Daniel's first out of state trip, not to mention his first overnight one. He was a champ on the way up, and only had enough of the ride once we were already on the streets of the historical district, so Mommy took him out of his car seat and let him finish the ride on her lap. Daniel had a ball riding in his stroller, looking at all the new stuff! That night at the hotel, the crib was WAAAYYY too small, so Mommy laid Daniel to sleep between her and Daddy. He slept all night! The trip home was a little bit more frustrating for Daniel, he was just exhausted from all of the fun. So exhuasted, in fact, that he slept 13 hours that night! Ahhhh...home sweet home.

March 22nd - Daniel's first trip to the Zoo! He liked the Giraffes, the Gorilla and the lemurs best - the lemurs started screeching and Daniel was amazed! Mommy and Daddy bought Daniel a little white lemur as a momento of the trip at the guft shop on the way out. They all had so much fun that they decided that the Saturday before Easter every year, they will go to the Zoo. Of course, they also plan to go back this fall, when its cooler, and hopefully see more animals.

March 23rd - Daniel's second Easter. The Easter Bunny was good to him - he left Daniel a basket at home and at Granny & Pap Pap's house. Mommy, Daddy and Daniel went to church and then had dinner at Granny's. It was a nice day.

April has been a month of Daniel crusing around the furniture, trying more new foods, and just growing. Daniel just got over a cold, but is sleeping good at night, eating and drinking lots during the day, and down to one nap during the day. He's getting to be a big boy!

We will try to come around more often, and we promise pictures really soon!
